Delivering Faith
by Robyn F. Johnson
I was pacing by the window. The truck hadn't arrived and I was on edge. It was almost six.
"Doesn't UPS stop delivering at six?"
No one answered me, but I wasn't expecting a reply. I was half-heartedly cooking dinner. The slightest sound of a truck and I'd surrender my spatula and run to the window.
After an hour of pacing and running, I heard one of the sweetest sounds in my life. I heard a truck approach, slow down and stop in front of my house. I ran to the front door and flung it open. My face was pressed against the glass storm door.
Faith had arrived. Delivered by UPS!
Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. (Hebrews 11:1)
I took a minute to breathe it all in. My mother rejoiced. We laughed and danced. I opened my first box of books. I held the evidence in my hands. I was holding the substance of what I'd hoped for. I'd asked God to put my words in a book by the age of 33 and He'd done it. Three years after I'd declared my request, in the third month of 2011, God answered my prayer.
I am a living witness that God will give you the desires of your heart, when they line up with His perfect will. God has placed me amongst other beautiful, strong women of God in this anthology. Read our stories of faith by purchasing a copy today in my store.
You will be blessed by it. We've poured out our souls just for you. Keep the faith!
Who Am I?
I am a sinner saved by grace with a passion to write. Who are you? Someone who needs an uplifting word, a laugh or a kick in the pants to remind you of the royalty from whence you came.
I call myself a Christian Fictionista because my genre is Christian Fiction and I find great joy in weaving tales from anything my senses are blessed to experience - from an overheard conversation at a coffee shop to the death of my father - everything I've absorbed becomes a new story to me.
The birth of this site is not about me, but about the gift I was given and my desire to share it with the world. God gives as He desires and I am so thankful that he gave me the gift of writing. It has seen me through every season of my life and promises to give life to others beyond my grave. In short, even when my time on earth is no more, God can still use me through the work I've left behind.
My father always encouraged me to write books. He saw my gift early and encouraged me. My mother saw it too. She published my first collection of writings when I was in grade school. I am thankful that my mother is able to witness me living this dream.
My father is with my Heavenly Father, but deep in my heart I believe He knows I am writing and he is proud.
Hey Dad, we made it!
Look Ma, I'm published!
